On-grid solar inverters synchronise with the utility grid and export power through net metering. When they fail, generation stops completely. Sunce Renewables repairs grid-tie inverters of all major brands, in single phase and three phase.
Common on-grid inverter faults we fix
- Grid voltage / frequency out of range errors
- Isolation fault or PV insulation resistance (ISO) errors
- Relay check failures and residual current (GFCI) faults
- DC bus over-voltage and boost circuit failures
- No display or inverter not starting in the morning
- Communication and monitoring app offline
- Low generation compared with panel capacity
Grid-related or inverter fault?
Many grid errors are caused by site conditions — high grid voltage at the end of a feeder, loose AC wiring or undersized cables — rather than the inverter itself. We check both the inverter and the installation, so the same error does not come back after repair.
Frequently asked questions
Why does my on-grid inverter show a grid fault?
Grid faults usually mean the grid voltage or frequency is outside the inverter's limits, or the AC connection is loose. If the grid is normal and the error persists, the inverter's relay or sensing circuit may need repair.
Will my on-grid inverter work during a power cut?
No. For safety, on-grid inverters shut down when the grid fails (anti-islanding). This is normal behaviour, not a fault. A hybrid inverter with batteries is needed for backup.
